Short Bio:
Dr Gerbasi was a High Honors, Phi Beta Kappa B.A. graduate at the University of Rochester in 1971, and got her Social Psychology Doctorate there in 1976.
Her interest in furries, resulted from a firm grounding in social psychology and life long interest in non-human animals, especially canines, and the relationships humans have with them.

Anthrozoology, Therianthropy, the Furry Fandom, Student Success, Mindset, Metacognition, and Executive Function

Recent Events:
The invitation was in response to the fact that furries on campus were not warmly welcomed by some students and were being harassed.
Most of the work described in this talk is a result of years of collaboration with her Furscience colleagues, Drs Fein, Plante, Reysen, and Roberts, and would not have been possible without dozens of her SUNY Niagara student research assistants, and Professor Laura Scaletta. Dr Gerbasi would like to give a special shout-out to the warm and well organized furry community at Rochester Institute of Technology, who attended this talk, some in furry attire 🙂
