Because most of the non-furry public’s preconception about the fandom is based on misunderstandings and misinformation/disinformation, we’ve set up pages to try to explain what the actual data show about what furries really are and what the fandom is really all about.
First our page “What’s a Furry?” gives a good overview, and contains an easily accessible article by Dr Roberts that describes what the data actually show.
We also have an entire section just for Parents, set up as a series of FAQs, based on our data, and written with actual parents of furries, which may also be helpful.
Last, we have a free book that covers 10 years’ worth of research on the subject, and dispels many of the most common myths and negative stereotypes about the fandom, and gives loads of data that show that the fandom can be beneficial ๐ It’s also available for free here!
I hope this helps ๐
